About the role
We have a rare opportunity for a hands-on Raw Materials and Purchasing Manager to deliver a critical function within Vinidex. Partnering across multiple sites, you’ll manage the end-to-end purchasing of raw materials and other production inputs, driving cost control, SAP process improvements, and supply reliability.
This role can be based in our manufacturing plants in Sydney, Melbourne or Queensland and reports to the General Manager Supply Chain. Make an impact being hands on and leading a small team, whilst supported to succeed with a tailored onboarding plan and handover, as a key member of our team transitions to retirement.
What you will do
Lead raw materials purchasing across Vinidex sites.
Ensure supplier operational performance, quality, and delivery reliability.
Manage supply across both local and international supply chains.
Drive SAP and MRP adoption and system maturity.
Manage CAPEX and equipment purchasing process.
Collaborate with planning and operations to ensure supply continuity and total delivered cost.
Monitor and optimise costs including storage, detention and demurrage.
Develop and manage performance metrics and KPIs to support business objectives.
Implement purchasing strategies aligned with forecasting and budget.
Resolve supplier issues and maintain strong relationships.
Mentor and develop a small team of purchasing professionals.
About you
APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) and a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain. (preferred)
8-10 years operation/supply chain and/or purchasing experience, ideally in manufacturing (Plastics, FMCG or Building Products).
Proven leadership experience managing small teams.
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
Advanced SAP or ERP system experience is essential.
Experience in managing freight forwarders, 3rd Party Logistics suppliers and international suppliers and supply chains is essential.
Experience in resin procurement or purchasing is an advantage.
Strategic thinker with strong analytical and planning capabilities.
Resilient, collaborative, and detail oriented.
Some travel will be required as part of this role (5%)
