Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a proactive and safety-focused Quarry Supervisor to lead operations at Old Cliffe Hill Quarry. This role is pivotal in ensuring the site meets its safety, environmental, cost, quality, and service objectives through effective team management and operational oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of Old Cliffe Hill Quarry.
Assume statutory responsibility under Regulation 8.1(d) in the Quarry Manager’s absence.
Manage contractors, employees, and visitors on site, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Ensure consistent supply of high-quality stone to meet processing plant requirements.
Promote a strong safety culture through active participation in safe walks, inspections, and incident reporting.
Monitor and report environmental compliance issues.
Lead and organise team priorities, adapting to changing operational needs.
Collaborate with other departments to support wider business objectives.
Work closely with logistics to optimise customer service and operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
SHE Quarry Management NVQ Level 4 (essential)
Geotechnical Level 3 (essential)
Blasting for Non-Blasting Managers (essential)
DAPS or equivalent qualification (desirable)
Proven experience in quarry operations and team leadership
Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations
