Quality Supervisor

Job Description

This role is responsible for supervising and maintaining the plants Quality systems to ensure compliance to regulatory, federal, and local laws. Areas of focus will include the identification and achievement of facility Quality KPI's through appropriate corrective/preventive actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Actively engaged support in planning, defining, and directing the site auditing control program to ensure compliance to all procedures, and policies, GMP standards, Kraft Heinz requirements, and regulatory, federal and local laws.

  • Responsible for cheese formulations and upkeep of the formulation systems. Conduct plant formulation trials with RND.

  • Monitors Ingredient specs to ensure up to date and accurate.

  • Support the KHMS system and operational standards as outlined in the plant accountability list.

  • Trains, mentors, and leads site QA and Production team to ensure program goals are met. Dedicated support to site QCMS/ISO Coordinator. Monitors and maintains plant QCMS/KHMS program by complying to current Kraft Heinz and International Audit (FSSC/ISO) standards. Facilitate and co-lead site cross functional QCMS/KHMS Team and participate with Kraft corporate to insure successful certification for site.

  • Ensure all Specification/KPI/QCMS/KHMS/FSSC/ISO/ plans are maintained and

  • Support all internal and external inspections/regulatory visits. Support audit preparation activities, accompany inspector, and complete necessary reports and postings.

  • Perform follow-ups to non-conformances found and provide responses as appropriate. Review and approve minor change requests.

  • Responsible for Hold/Release documentation and dispositioning of products.

  • Complete validation studies for all CCPs, OPRPs and other significant controls in accordance with approved methodologies.

  • Ensures compliance to Golden Rules and other Quality principles through routine auditing, reporting and trending compliance appropriately.

  • Provides expertise and actively participates in equipment commissioning and startup, ensuring standardization of all applicable quality and food safety procedures.

  • Adhere to approved change control procedures, to include reviewing partial HACCP plans and issuing Agile change requests, as needed.

  • Supports factory FSQ continuous improvement initiatives.  Seeks out, identifies and implements projects to improve product quality and consistency, process capability, waste reduction, etc.

  • Actively supports factory shop floor assessments (i.e., performance monitoring, GEMBA walks) to ensure quality & safety standards are adhered to at all times.

Expected Experience & Required Skills

  • Proven history of technical quality or production knowledge of policies & programs in Food or relevant manufacturing settings.

  • Education or Operational/On the job knowledge of Food Science, Food Production, Manufacturing Quality/Operations, or other relevant environments.

  • Strong leadership, technical, communication and interpersonal skills required along with attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of quality or production systems, procedures, & policies. Manage multiple assignments, develop work plans, & prioritize.

  • Knowledge of statistical processes.

  • Planning and organizing skills.

  • Successful candidates possess a positive focus toward solutions with emphasis on preventative pro-active measures and team building.

  • Must be able to work scheduled and/or alternate shifts, weekends, and all required overtime. Prompt and regular attendance.

Work Environment & Schedule

This position is considered a Manufacturing plant environment with heavy machinery and equipment. Additionally, you must be able to work shifts, weekends, and all required overtime as needed. 

Physical Requirements

Physical demands include but not limited to

  • Occasional – activity or conditions sustained for 1/3 of working hours; keyboard or text input, upright stance; Sedentary – occasionally exerting 0-10 bs of force, limited movement from workstation for brief periods of time.

New Hire Base Salary Range:

$77,800.00 - $97,300.00

Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.

The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
