Position Overview:

Boeing South Carolina is seeking a 787 Quality Superintendent (Level M) of Core Quality (Quality Engineering, Investigations/Material Review Board (MRB)/Material Review Segregation Area (MRSA), Conformity & Site Response Team (SRT), and Quality Systems & Integration (QS&I)) to join their BCA team in North Charleston, South Carolina. This role will oversee multiple 787 Core Quality functions, including Quality Engineering, Investigations/MRB/MRSA, Conformity and SRT, and QS&I, while developing and shaping organizational strength and functional excellence. This position requires leadership and people skills, the ability to problem-solve and proactively identify issues, and to develop and communicate corrective action plans that drive defect elimination and First Pass Quality.

This leader will have extensive experience with quality processes and tools while managing a team. They will have a proven ability to lead, influence and drive prevention based corrective action, and continuous improvement throughout the production system using knowledge in problem solving methods and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA). If you have working experience in developing standard operating procedures, project management, and experience leading a Quality Organization, with thorough knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), we want to hear from you!

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages, coaches, develops, and motivates employees and mid-level managers performing management activities across multiple (2 or more) Quality Management Job Families

  • Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies

  • Provides education and coaching on the Quality System

  • Acquires and manages resources and leads process improvements

  • Develops and maintains relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, suppliers and direct reports

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience building, developing and maintaining customer relationships

  • 5+ years of experience in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Quality, or a regulated industry

  • 5+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and/or informal role

  • 5+ years of experience working with safety & quality processes and procedures

  • 5+ years of experience in cross-functional leadership, collaborative problem solving, building lasting relationships & proficiency in written and verbal communication

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Prior Sr level leadership supporting Quality or Manufacturing programs in commercial aviation

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical discipline. Engineering degree highly preferred

  • 3+ years of experience with problem solving methods or Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)

  • 3+ project management experience

  • 3+ years of experience working with customer airlines or government agencies
