Position type: Exempt

Position Overview: The successful candidate will provide technical and facilitative support all product lines. The Quality Engineer will lead and facilitate the implementation of global and site-specific quality initiatives and their continual improvement. Responsible for the site quality engineering activities and lead, coach, and facilitate core quality system processes, problem solving, analysis of data and continual improvement activities.

Responsibilities Would Include:

  • Facilitate, coordinate and execution of core Quality System processes and practices. Assist in formulating and improving quality control policies and procedures. Construction and maintenance of Quality system flow diagrams and process descriptions.
  • Use Risk Based Thinking to identify opportunities for improvement. Use structured approach for root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions. Use evidence based decision making tools for problem solving.
  • Support manufacturing groups with quality processes, practices and continuous improvement efforts. Establish and manage metrics and key process indicators. Support internal and external quality audits. Be the Quality liaison between the customer and site manufacturing process. Use customer feedback as source for continuous improvement efforts.
  • Responsible for customer concern management and corrective action request process. Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing and customer to ensure successful launch and ongoing sustainment of products and processes at GTP.
  • Support control of externally provided processes, products and services. Have the authority and the responsibility to stop any process or product delivery in case of a serious non-conformity to customer expectations, safety or environmental risks etc.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering technology plus Quality related experience or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in engineering or related field.  Quality related experience desired.
  • Experience with problem solving methodologies (Six Sigma Black Belt; Master Black Belt preferred.) Experience with Quality Management Systems and core processes
  • Knowledge of the ISO9001 Standard (2015 preferred)
  • Experience with root cause analysis methodologies (Global 8D). Experience with Risk Based Thinking and Risk Management.
