Job Description Summary:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Work closely with the Quality Team on product and packaging testing.
· Provide support for HACCP reassessment and new process development activities.
· Act as primary escalation point and back-up to QA Manager in absence.
· Manage team scheduling, attend team meetings, assist in complaint investigations and other tasks as assigned by the QA Manager.
· Assign and monitor food safety related programs, including but not limited to pre-op inspections, environmental monitoring, pest control and GMP monitoring.
· Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective action plans for product and process non-conformances.
· Participate in the third-party and regulatory audits by mediating with auditors and implementing corrective measures for all deficiencies.
· Help implements and manage quality assurance metrics for performance improvement of all teams.
· Strong ability to provide direction to standardize distressed batches to bring them in specifications.
· Ensures that quality policies and procedures are well documented, updated, and appropriately circulated.
· Verify sanitation and cleaning processes, including but not limited to premise, equipment, and general housekeeping by production staff and sanitation crew.
· Monitor production floor activities including verification of CCPs, in-process documentation, chemical concentration (produce wash, sanitizer), etc.
· Provide training for plant personnel as it relates to HACCP, FSSC 22000, GMPs and other customer requirements as required.
· Supervise and assign daily tasks to crew in accordance with training.
· Perform random inspections during and after sanitation to ensure proper and detailed cleaning.
· Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation records.
· Oversee the development and execution of the Master Sanitation Schedule through the scheduling of labor to clean and sanitize equipment, surfaces and plant environment to accomplish sanitation practices according to Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP’s).
· Complete and maintain appropriate documentation to identify all tasks completed or required future actions
· Training of the sanitation team to ensure clear communication and understanding of the job requirements
· Selection and purchasing of appropriate sanitation chemicals and equipment
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
· Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Dairy Science, Microbiology, or Chemistry with solid understanding of HACCP.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Self-driven, organized, and motivated individual with strong work ethics.
· Solid understanding of dairy products, processes, and of applicable regulatory requirements.
· Strong interpersonal skills to lead, coach, build consensus and lead change among a team of production and quality.
· Highly organized, team player, proactive and results oriented.
· Mindset of continuous improvement and passionate about sanitation and understands its importance to the safety and quality of manufactured food products.
· Flexible to work evenings and weekends is a must.
· Comprehensive knowledge of the FSSC and ISO 900
