Job Summary

About the Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated QA/Test Engineer to join our Operational Intelligence team. This role goes beyond traditional QA, it requires someone who can understand complex event-driven systems, follow the flow of data from alerts to incidents, and validate both technical integration and business logic across a distributed AIOps ecosystem.
You’ll be testing core platform components including a Golang-based alert ingestion service, our correlation engine, and downstream integrations such as ServiceNow and Slack. This role is ideal for a test engineer who has experience with backend systems, API workflows, and wants to expand into observability, AIOps, incident management, and automation testing.

Job Description

QA/Test Engineer

Experience: 2.5 Years to 4.5 Years.
Location: Chennai.

What You’ll Do:

Design and execute component-level and end-to-end tests across alert ingestion, correlation, and incident creation pipelines

Validate the Golang-based microservice that ingests alerts into the platform, checking schema, enrichment, and error-handling logic

Test incident correlation rules and logic, measuring accuracy, performance, and resilience under varied scenarios

Simulate alert flows and validate incident creation in ServiceNow and notification delivery to Slack

Create, manage, and maintain realistic test datasets to validate production-like conditions and edge cases

Debug failures by reviewing logs, APIs, and payloads — and work with engineers to ensure fixes meet platform goals

Collaborate with engineers and analysts to design and execute scenario-based test plans that align with operational workflows

Validate behavior under partial failures, latency spikes, or degraded integrations

Document testing processes, test cases, and key validation patterns for future platform releases

Participate in release cycles, regression sweeps, and rule change validation to ensure platform quality

Contribute to improving test coverage, automation strategy, and operational readiness criteria

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field

5+ years of experience in QA, backend testing, or SDET roles focused on APIs, microservices, or event-based systems

Experience testing REST APIs using tools like Postman, Insomnia, or cURL

Familiarity with backend workflows including microservices, queues, and data pipelines

Strong ability to read logs, understand structured data (e.g., JSON), and debug cross-system workflows

Experience writing detailed test cases, scenarios, and edge case validations

Basic understanding of alert and incident lifecycles, especially across systems like ServiceNow or Slack

Excellent documentation skills and ability to collaborate closely with engineering and data teams

Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in driving QA visibility across the team

Participate in on-call rotations & provide operational support as needed

Nice to Have:

Exposure to Golang-based APIs (reading/debugging, not writing)

Familiarity with AIOps concepts, alert correlation, and rule-based incident generation

Experience testing integrations with ITSM systems (ServiceNow), chat ops tools (Slack), or observability platforms

Understanding of cloud-native systems, particularly in AWS (Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, etc.)

Comfort with tools like JIRA, Git, Confluence, and lightweight scripting for test automation (Python, Bash)

Experience supporting release readiness, system validation, or operational QA in distributed systems
