We are seeking a Prospect Research Analyst II to serve as a strategic, integrated partner to Compassion's Global Philanthropic Engagement (GPE) fundraising team. This analyst will be responsible for providing research, analysis, and actionable insights to inform philanthropic fundraising activity. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of philanthropic fundraising, demonstrate strong analytical skills, and have the ability to identify prospective donors who align with our mission and objectives.

What Will You Do?

  • Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintaining a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully uphold Compassion's ministry in prayer.

  • Act as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understand Christ's mandate to protect children. Commit to and prioritize child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abide by all behavioral expectations in Compassion's Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Report any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion's internal reporting process and appropriately support responses to incidents if they occur.

  • Uphold and engage in Compassion's core Cultural Behaviors.

  • Support prospect identification, qualification, and pipeline development efforts for the GPE fundraising team. Conduct comprehensive research on philanthropic donor prospects, analyzing philanthropic history, interests, network connections, and giving patterns; perform holistic wealth assessments to predict giving capacity.

  • Analyze portfolios of existing donors to optimize fundraising efforts and identify untapped philanthropic capacity.

  • Translate data into actionable insights to positively impact fundraising team results. Provide research reports and donor profiles, delivering confident and clear insights and recommendations that inform fundraising strategies and donor engagement plans.

  • Work as a strategic, integrated partner with the GPE fundraising team. Understanding fundraising priorities and organizational goals, collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate donor research insights into broader fundraising campaigns and initiatives.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the organization's donor database and prospect management systems.

  • Stay abreast with current research/fundraising industry trends, philanthropic developments, and best practices in prospect research. 

What Will You Bring?

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., nonprofit management, fundraising, data analytics, business intelligence, etc.).

  • Three+ years of experience in prospect research, donor research, fundraising intelligence, or related roles within the nonprofit, fundraising, or development sectors.

  • Robust analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize data and provide actionable insights for fundraisers.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate research findings effectively to diverse audiences.

  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct in handling sensitive donor information and maintaining confidentiality.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across different departments.

  • Proficiency in fundraising CRMs (preferably Salesforce) and data visualization tools such as Tableau.

  • Ability to utilize a wide range of online databases, research tools, and resources (e.g. WealthEngine, LexisNexis) to conduct prospect research and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a large-scale capital campaign or multi-year fundraising initiative.

  • Expertise in wealth analysis, donor profiling, and understanding of philanthropy trends.
