The Proposal Design Manager plays a key leadership role in overseeing the full proposal lifecycle—from RFIs and RFPs to finalist presentations. This position is responsible for developing compelling, high-quality proposals and presentation materials that effectively communicate Carelon’s value, align with client needs, and support organizational growth objectives.
Location: Hybrid 1: This role requires associates to be in-office 1 day per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace.

How will you make an impact:
Lead the Full Proposal Lifecycle: Oversee and manage the proposal process from initial RFI through finalist presentations, ensuring all deliverables meet deadlines, requirements, and strategic objectives.
Drive Strategic Coordination: Serve as the central point of contact for each pursuit, aligning cross-functional teams—including sales, product, clinical, legal, and operations—to create cohesive, client-focused responses.
Manage Content Quality and Consistency: Ensure proposals reflect a unified voice, consistent messaging, and compelling narratives that clearly articulate Carelon’s differentiators and value proposition.
Elevate Proposal Design: Develop and implement visual and content strategies that enhance readability, impact, and brand alignment across proposals, Q&A responses, and presentations.
Integrate Visual Storytelling: Leverage design software and brand templates to produce visually engaging PowerPoint decks, graphics, and data visualizations that bring Carelon’s story to life.
Champion Process Excellence: Maintain proposal standards, manage timelines, and ensure all submissions comply with internal review processes, legal/compliance guidelines, and brand requirements.
Collaborate to Win: Partner with sales and business leaders to understand client needs, translate solutions into compelling content, and deliver materials that strengthen Carelon’s competitive position.
Continuously Improve: Identify opportunities to streamline proposal operations, enhance content libraries, and advance best practices in proposal management and design.
Minimum requirements:
Requires a BA/BS degree in a related field and a minimum of 7 years of related experience including at least 5 years of experience in the health insurance industry; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:
Strong background in proposal management or business development within healthcare or related industries.
Familiarity with healthcare terminology, trends, and market dynamics.
Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders across disciplines.
Experience writing to Medicare, Medicaid and government bids.
Travels to worksite and other locations as necessary.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro, Premiere, After Effects, InDesign) and Microsoft 365 (PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, Teams, etc.)
