From award-winning hospitals and leisure facilities to flagship community programmes – we’ll do whatever it takes to look after the UK’s wellbeing. It starts with passion and commitment to quality. It starts with you.

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Technology & Transformation team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. Working alongside a Systems Analyst and Solution Architect, you’ll play a key role in delivering projects focused on decommissioning obsolete technology, improving cyber resilience, and ensuring Nuffield Health’s digital infrastructure supports safe and effective care delivery.

This role is ideal for a delivery-focused project professional with strong technical understanding and a passion for driving meaningful change in a purpose-led environment.

As a Project Manager you will:

  • Manage resources / relationships to create initial project plan and costings for workstreams identified by the Systems Analyst and Solution Architect to achieve funding approval.

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of projects within the Obsolete Technology and Cyber Resilience Programme, where applicable. Ensuring scope, timelines, and quality targets are met.

  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, RAID logs, and reporting dashboards, ensuring alignment with programme governance.

  • Work closely with technical and non-technical teams to manage dependencies, risks, and resource / budget planning across multiple workstreams.

  • Coordinate and facilitate key project ceremonies, meetings, and stakeholder communications.

  • Ensure project documentation, business cases, and benefits tracking are clearly defined and maintained.

  • Oversee procurement and vendor engagement where required, ensuring third-party delivery aligns with internal standards.

  • Manage testing, change, and implementation activities to ensure smooth transition into BAU.

  • Report progress into governance forums and provide clear visibility of delivery status to senior leadership.

To succeed as a Project Manager, we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager initiating projects from idea to delivery.

  • Proven experience in delivering IT and transformation projects (ideally within healthcare, public sector, or other regulated environments).

  • Strong understanding of technology change delivery, including systems decommissioning, infrastructure, or cyber security initiatives.

  • Demonstrable experience managing multi-disciplinary project teams (including SAs, architects, engineers, and third parties).

  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement, risk management, and benefits tracking.

  • Experience working within Agile and Waterfall or hybrid delivery frameworks.

  • Excellent organisational, planning, and communication skills.

  • Recognised project management qualification (Prince2, APM, AgilePM, or similar) preferred.

As a Project Manager you will be:

  • Pragmatic and delivery-focused, with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Collaborative and communicative, able to manage a wide range of stakeholders with confidence.

  • Structured and organised, maintaining control in a complex and fast-moving environment.

  • Purpose-driven, with a genuine interest in using technology to improve patient and operational outcomes.
