About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments 

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience 

  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager, Business Analyst, or other equivalent experience 

  • 2+ years of experience working in a library, academic or other relevant industry 

 

It would be great if you also had... 

  • PMP or other standard project management certification 

  • Working knowledge of library workflows and standards 

  • Professional experience with cloud-based or Software as a Service (SaaS) products 

  • Ability to work effectively with a geographically distributed project team 

  • Ability to motivate a project team and customers without direct reporting responsibility/authority 

  • Ability to manage several complex tasks concurrently and meet deadlines 

  • Proven skills with Microsoft Office products 

 

What will you be doing in this role? 

  • Creates and maintains detailed project plans, monitors, tracks and reports on project progress, and manages project scope, 

  • risks and escalations 

  • Coordinates all implementation tasks and other project work, as part of an implementation team including implementation 

  • consultants and other roles 

  • Manages customer communication, relationship and expectations throughout project lifecycle 

  • Coordinates implementation activities with data analysts, trainers, system engineers, implementation consultants, and others 

  • in the Professional Services organization, as well as with other global Ex Libris and Innovative teams including Cloud Services, Support, Sales and Product Management 

  • Driving timely task and project completion with internal and external customers 

  • Monitoring and assuring quality of delivery 

  • Contributing to continuous improvement processes to increase delivery quality, reduce project effort and risk, and minimize 

  • cost of delivery 

  • Reviews and contributes to implementation tools and documents used both internally and by customers 

  • Uses defined procedures and systems to perform and document implementation tasks 

  • Contributes to the development and improvement of standard procedures 

 

About the Team 

The position manages projects to implement library and related solutions within the Academic & Government vertical, primarily within the Innovative product suite (Polaris, Sierra, Vega, INN-Reach). Stakeholders include the team of project managers on the team, their projectlevel teams (including trainers, system engineers, data analysts), customers (academic, public, government, and special libraries and consortia), and colleagues in Product Management, Development, Sales, Customer Success, and Support. The project size varies significantly based on product(s), duration (from weeks to 1 year+). There are 7 people on the team, consisting of Project Managers, primarily working in SmartSheet, Salesforce, Basecamp, and MS Office. 

 

Hours of Work 

Full time, permanent 

Although duties are typically performed during normal business hours, occasional off-hours may be required
