Reporting to the Vice President of Employee Benefits Operations - Customer Activation, Contracting, and Employer Services Organization. We are looking for a Project Manager to oversee 2-3 medium-sized projects, ensuring deliverables, timelines, and risk mitigation plans are effectively created and implemented for optimal customer and employee experience.  

WORK ARRANGEMENTS:

This role has a Hybrid work schedule.  Candidates who live near one of our HUB locations will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads organized planning sessions with subject matter experts to create clear project objectives, workplan, delivery phases, resource allocation and business engagement plans.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in pivoting the project team in a new direction or process if project requires a change.
  • Creates and provides regular progress reports communicating updates with different levels of granularity based on audience; ensure that project sponsors, stakeholders and project team participants are kept apprised of issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Raises project related issues and concern appropriate level of management in a timely manner, including suggesting options for resolution.
  • Foster knowledge exchange and create an environment that fosters project team motivation.
  • Maintains an on-going cadence of meetings and updates to engage stakeholders and project resources. This includes an agenda, notes and clear deliverables, helping to ensure transparency and increase pace of decisions and outcomes.
  • Works cross functionally across Operations, Products, Sales & Relationship Management, The Transformation Organization, Ops Excellence and the Peg Organization to facilitate decisions, communications and ensure practices and learning is updated. 

Initial Project Management Accountabilities

  • Istream Mitigation Project:  This work focuses on migration and/or conversion of customers currently on the iStream booklet creation system to the go forward PDA booklet system, while also upgrading to the newest and Life and DI contract versions for conversion cases. This work represents 1,688 cases across our Regional Accounts and National Account customers and 14,174 across our Priority Business customers. The total case premium that is being converted is $2.5B. Overall responsibilities include managing timeline, deliverables, risk, mitigation, and organizational readiness plan.
  • Priority Business: Priority Business is a strategic growth area for The Hartford; responsibilities will be included supporting the Employee Benefits Operations. This role will support managing timeline, deliverables, risk, mitigation, and organizational readiness plan.
  • Implementation Quality:  Employee Benefits Operations in partnership with the Quality teams is redesigning the Implementation Quality Program. This program supports the quality for ~$1B of new business, Add Issue and customer plan updates each year. This role will support managing projects, meeting all defined standards and requirements. Manage timeline, deliverables, risk, mitigation, and organizational readiness plan.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Employee Benefits Experience strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in project management.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA).
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Understanding of the Employee Benefits or Group Insurance market.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$84,000 - $126,000
