The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) - Phantom Works organization is seeking a talented Project Engineer (Lead or Senior) to join the Signature Integrity Software Team in Berkeley, MO.

 Signature Integrity is the ability to manufacture and maintain to a signature performance, evaluate defects, and provide signature status through signature management systems. A successful member of this team will lead project alignment and development of systems for model based engineering (MBE) and signature management.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides project leadership to a software development team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers
  • Works with customers and management to obtain approvals
  • Responds to changes to SOW, assesses the impact and negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules
  • Leads project to complete the work statement
  • Identify performance metrics, plans, identifies, and coordinates resources required over the life of the project
  • Defines plans for risk mitigation and opportunity
  • Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned
  • Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans
  • Works under minimal direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Berkeley, MO.

Travel may be required up to 5% of the time; Domestically depending on business needs.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • (Level 4) 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in engineering project planning or project management   

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 

  • (Level 5) 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Knowledge with the full life cycle process of software systems and development
  • Knowledge of development methodology and configuration software management tools and processes (available) 
  • Experience working with customers (available) 
  • 2 years’ experience developing project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and risks (available) 
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) (available) 
  • 2+ years’ experience working with different engineering skill groups (available) 
  • Basic experience utilizing digital tools such as JIRA, Gitlab, Confluence, etc for project management
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including interface and presentation skills to all levels of employees and Leadership
  • 1 year of technical writing experience in work, or internship(s)
  • Prior exposure to Agile framework, but not required

Typical Education/Experience: 

(Lead) Level 4

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

(Senior) Level 5

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range (Lead): $114,750 - $155,250

Summary pay range (Senior): $140,250 - $189,750
