What you will do
The Project Engineer – Fire Protection is a key role directly reporting to Project Manager for Middle East region. You will be based in Qatar and will be a part of a growing team and be responsible for driving the growth of business for JCI-Tyco.
You will be supporting the Project management team in execution of projects. As a member of this team, you will work within a vibrant environment that provides a platform for you to use your experience to support the team with the pre-sales/estimation.
How you will do it
As an experienced Project Engineer, you need to have in-depth experience and knowledge in designing and execution of Fire Fighting systems solutions involving Fire Protection (water Based systems), Gas Suppression, Sprinklers, Foam and Alarm systems primarily for Oil & Gas Sector.
As a Project Engineer, you will recommend upgrades or system improvements on maintained system as required and prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects, monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications and you will interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field
What we look for
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or Similar Discipline from a reputable university.
- MMUP/ UPDA and Qatar Civil Defense Department Certification (QCDD) is mandatory.
- Minimum of 6-8 years project experience in execution of Fire Protection projects in Oil & Gas sector.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Water Deluge Spray system, Foam System, Clean Agent system.
- Knowledge of relevant NFPA codes.
- Review of P&ID, GA drawings, piping layout and ensuring compliance with relevant project specifications.
- Preparing data sheets, technical submittals, IOM manuals etc.
- Review QC procedures, co-ordination with QA/QC department.
- Preparing Installation Method statements, FAT/SAT, commissioning procedures.
- Initiate and respond to contractual issues during project execution.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Project Cost management, revenue generation and invoicing to customers.
- Solid organizational skills include attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
- Good interpersonal, negotiation, labour management and influencing skills.
- Work experience in ME (UAE or Oman / Kuwait / Qatar) Oil & Gas Industry.
- Determine cost estimate targets during the design and development process, recommending cost effective solutions.
- Proven ability to produce high quality and impactful professional documents for clients and internal use
- Fluency in the English language is essential and excellent mail etiquettes
