The Project Coordinator II, under supervision, will provide technical expertise and management support for Fort Irwin's cultural resource management program.
Responsibilities:
- Survey, site and artifact analyses, shovel test and text unit excavation
- Completion of California cultural site forms
- Provide administrative and field support for large cultural surveys and NHPA projects
- National Register of Historic Places evaluation projects
- Support curation staff as needed
- Fencing protected areas and Cultural monitoring
-Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
-Bachelor’s degree in range, wildlife, natural resources management or applicable field or equivalent combination of education or experience.
-Four years of related experience in project coordination/administration.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in curation
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
-Knowledge of standard proofreading.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
-Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Foundational knowledge of archaeological methods.
