Project Controls Specialist I

Position Summary

The Project Controls Specialist I supports project teams in tracking and maintaining cost, schedule, and risk documentation. This entry-level role ensures timely and accurate reporting while developing foundational project controls knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
  • Maintain project documentation such as contracts, invoices, and timesheets.
  • Track expenditures and assist in comparing actuals to budgets. 
  • Aid in compiling labor code usage and certified payroll tracking. 
  • Assist in project billing, invoice submission, and AR follow-up.
  • Help keep schedule and production tracking tools current.
  • Participate in routine project meetings and reporting preparation.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance.
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience in project accounting or project controls. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Internship or co-op experience in a construction or engineering environment. 
  • Familiarity with CMiC, ADP, or other ERP/project management software.
  • Exposure to project delivery methods such as FFP, CPFF, or T&M.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

This office and field hybrid role requires frequent computer use and effective communication. Site work may involve extended periods of standing or walking and required PPE, with potential exposure to heavy equipment, chemicals, dust, fumes, uneven terrain, and extreme weather.
