Job Description Summary:
The Program Support Assistant recognizes they will come into contact daily with individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance use and mental health) issues, recognizing the individuals we serve often have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment. They are primarily responsible for facilitating the maximum level of support services and demonstrates a warm and welcoming empathic, hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery and is trained and/or experienced in working with severe mental illness and/or substance use using diagnosed individuals and providing support driven by the needs and choices of the clients and families served. These services will be provided in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma as a result of the care received. Program Support Assistant will report to Clinical Support Team Leader (New Directions).
Education:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum of one-year prior medical office experience preferred
Responsibilities:
• Training of support staff in all areas, including Medical Office Support Staff, Admissions, Medical Records, or prior authorizations/eligibility at New Direction locations.
• Work the Avatar to Cimor and Cimor to Avatar reports daily to assure systems are in agreement for level(s) of service.
• Recommends process improvement(s) to the team leader.
• Serves as primary backup due to staff vacancies.
• Resolves outstanding paperwork, eligibility assignments and enters discharge diagnosis when needed to assure items are entered and resolved in a timely manner.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
• Typical physical demands include prolonged sitting, frequent standing, bending, stooping, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, telephone, photocopier, calculator, and other office equipment as needed.
• Must occasionally deal with irate individuals.
• Requires ability to work under stressful conditions and to work irregular hours if needed.
