JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Extension in Lancaster County seeks to hire a Part-Time Extension Support position to serve as a LIFT (Lifelong Improvements Through Fitness Together) Program Instructor. Instructors lead morning face to face classes for approximately 2 hours twice a week for eight to twelve weeks, 3-4 times a year. This position will report to the Lancaster County Food, Families, and Communities Extension Educator. Class participants are 40 years old and older. The current class we need an instructor for is our 7:30 - 8:45 am class.

Specific job responsibilities include:

1. Lead participants in a 5-minute exercise warm-up.

2. Lead participants in 60-minutes of strength training exercises.

3. Lead a 5-minute cool-down.

4. Energize and motivate participants throughout the class.

5. Instruct short nutrition and health-related lessons provided to the instructor.

6. Demonstrate proper form and ensure participants are using correct form, offering corrections if needed.

7. Complete evaluations.
