Position Overview
The Program Director for Radar System Decision Tools will have the responsibility for leading, managing, and advancing a portfolio of programs focused on developing, integrating, and sustaining advanced analytical and decision-support tools for radar systems. This role oversees the full lifecycle of software-enabled radar mission applications—including modeling and simulation, data fusion, threat characterization, sensor management algorithms, real-time processing, and operator decision aids. The Program Director provides strategic direction, technical leadership, customer engagement, and disciplined program execution to ensure that all radar decision tool solutions meet U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) mission requirements. The Director manages a multi-disciplinary workforce of engineers, scientists, developers, analysts, and program managers to deliver high-quality, operationally relevant products.
Strategic Leadership & Portfolio Management
• Lead a diverse portfolio of radar system decision tool programs supporting radar missions.
• Develop long-term strategy for decision tool modernization, analytics capability growth, AI/ML integration, and radar algorithm advancement.
• Align program execution with corporate goals, DoD sensor modernization strategies, customer priorities, and future mission requirements.
• Maintain authoritative understanding of radar system architectures, and sensor fusion.
Program Execution & Performance Oversight
• Oversee end-to-end program planning, execution, and delivery in accordance with cost, schedule, performance, and quality commitments.
• Lead technical baseline management, systems engineering processes, software development lifecycle activities, and integrated test strategies for decision-support tools.
• Ensure tools integrate effectively with radar platforms, command-and-control systems, data processing frameworks, and user interfaces.
• Champion digital engineering, model-based systems engineering, and automated test infrastructures to increase development efficiency.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
• Serve as the senior program representative to DoD, Missile Defense Agency, DARPA, the intelligence community, and other government sponsors.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with program offices, system integrators, operators, and technical communities of interest.
• Interpret customer needs and translate them into actionable program objectives, technology roadmaps, and R&D directions.
• Represent the company at technical exchanges, radar conferences, and user working groups.
Technical & Operational Integration
• Ensure integration of mission command systems with tactical networks, cloud architectures, data fabrics, sensor-to-shooter pathways, and operational workflows.
• Evaluate new technologies, modernization initiatives, and digital engineering tools that enhance situational awareness, decision-making, and command agility.
• Oversee systems engineering, prototyping, testing, cybersecurity compliance, and fielding activities to ensure solutions meet operationally relevant performance thresholds.
Business, Financial, and Contract Management
• Oversee program budgets, resource allocations, financial performance, forecasting, and profitability targets.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, federal acquisition regulations, and internal program management standards (PMI or equivalent).
• Support business development teams in shaping new opportunities, contributing to capture strategies, developing win themes, and reviewing proposal content.
• Identify opportunities for portfolio expansion, technology transition, and strategic partnerships in radar, electronic warfare, and sensor fusion markets.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.
• 6+ years of experience managing Department of Defense or Space programs.
• Demonstrated success managing multi-million-dollar program portfolios with diverse customer and technical requirements.
• Proven ability to lead large cross-functional teams and manage subcontractors, partners, and distributed development teams.
• Strong financial acumen, contract management experience, and proficiency in PMI-aligned program management frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to brief senior military, government, and corporate leaders.
Desired Qualifications
• PMP or DAWIA Program Management certification.
• Chief engineer experience.
• Background in systems engineering, software development, or tactical network integration.
• Understanding of Army acquisition pathways.
• Understanding of AI/ML techniques applied to radar decision tools or sensor management.
