Professional Services Manager
(Remote US role, with a hybrid option of up to three (3) days per week in the Jacksonville office for local candidates)

The Professional Services Manager plays a key role in resolving issues, shaping business and user requirements, and ensuring successful delivery within the Professional Services organization. This leader is directly responsible for managing a team of four (4) or more direct reports—including supervisors and individual contributors—while working closely with senior management on departmental strategy and operational challenges. The role offers wide latitude for decision-making and typically requires six (6) or more years of relevant experience, including at least two (2) years in a leadership capacity.
Responsibilities:
- Provides oversight in the analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications.
- Consults with leaders to influence business partners and service providers regarding priorities, hardware/software selection, and/or vendor selection.
- Analyzes marketplace, industry, company, technology trends and best practices, and vendor products and services, etc.
- Uses knowledge of systems and industry requirements to project development needs or systems modifications.
- Develops financial estimates for operating and/or capital expenses expected from meeting team deliverables including financial forecasting, purchasing decisions, and staffing related costs for new or existing products or company initiatives.
- Assigns and monitors the work of the team, providing technical and analytical support and direction. Interfaces with external clients or field based employees on technical matters as needed.
- May manage small projects or sub-projects.
- May train internal employees or external clients on changes, new systems, or new procedures. Conducts one-on-one or classroom training depending upon the size or desire of the audience.
- Mentors, guides, advises, and/or checks the work of less experienced Business Systems Analysts.
- May negotiate and/or contract with consultants, technical personnel, and vendors for services and products.
- May define and/or negotiate service level agreements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Dark Matter products and services
- Knowledge of financial services industry
- Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles (e.g., waterfall, iterative and other modern approaches to software development)
- Proficiency in business modeling and requirements definition disciplines through Unified Modeling Language (UML), use cases, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively complete budget preparation, cost management
- Ability to proactively address difficult issues and effectively handle demanding or upset clients
- Ability to effectively allocate resources to available finances and workforce to meet the plan
- Ability to drive a flexible staffing model capable of reacting quickly to fluctuations in demand
- Excellent customer service skills that build high levels of customer satisfaction for internal and external clients
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization (e.g., executive, management, individual contributors)
- Willingly shares relevant technical and/or industry knowledge and expertise to other resources
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills
- Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take
