The Professional Services Consultant serves as the critical link between the company's cutting-edge technology and its valued financial institution customers (banks, credit unions, mortgage companies, etc.). This role is perfect for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with a strong foundation in credit analysis and a practical understanding of technology and project management methodologies. This individual manages customer engagements, primarily focusing on delivering credit data products.
What you’ll do:
Customer Engagement & Delivery:
- Serve as the primary consultant for customers engaging in credit prescreens and account reviews.
- Translate customer business objectives and technical requirements into clear, executable project plans.
- Manage the end-to-end delivery cycle for professional service engagements, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
- Provide subject matter expertise on credit risk assessment and data interpretation to both internal teams and external customers.
Credit Expertise & Analysis:
- Deeply analyze and interpret all components of a credit file, including trade lines, payment history, public records, collections, and inquiries.
- Articulate and explain applicable credit scores and pre-coded attributes that aid customers in defining and executing their lending strategy.
- Following job execution, facilitate post-delivery interpretation meetings to explain the resulting data elements and findings, ensuring customers fully understand the output for their strategic execution.
Operational & Technical Excellence:
- Maintain exceptional organization skills and rigorous attention to detail to manage multiple, concurrent customer engagements and data integrity checks.
- Work collaboratively with the Sales, Product, and Development teams to scope projects and support product enhancement initiatives.
- Utilize Jira for tracking, logging, and managing project tasks, customer requests, and issue resolution.
- Operate within an Agile environment, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness to changing priorities and evolving customer needs.
What experience you need:
- 5+ years of experience in a financial institution (bank, credit union, mortgage company) with direct exposure to credit underwriting, risk analysis, or lending operations.
- 5+ years of work experience with a proven track record of successful client-facing consulting and project delivery.
- Proven working experience in reading, interpreting, and analyzing consumer credit reports and scores.
- In-depth knowledge of the factors influencing credit risk and lending decisions.
- A strong background or aptitude for technology; comfort working with data analysis tools, APIs, and SaaS platforms.
- Demonstrated understanding of Agile principles and workflows.
- Proficiency in using Jira or a similar project management/ticketing system.
- Excellent proficiency in data manipulation and presentation tools (e.g., advanced Excel/Google Sheets, visualization software).
- English proficiency B2
- Flexibility to work overtime and be on-call as required by the business, particularly during critical periods such as project deadlines, month-end, and quarterly closings.
Internal Candidates:
- Must have a minimum of one year of tenure in their current position.
- No active disciplinary actions within the last three months prior to and during the recruitment process.
- Must not be on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
