Position Overview

As part of the talented Plant 17 Trim Operations team, you will supervise production employees and assign work meeting safety, quality, delivery and cost goals. Recommend and execute improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions through listening, engaging employees and problem solving. Act as the company conduit for employee communications to keep employees abreast of news and information. This position supports 8th shift trim operations from Monday – Thursday at 3:30PM – 2:00AM.

Essential Functions:  

  • Own the four (4) main metrics (safety, quality, delivery, productivity/people) - understand results & implement action plans to close gaps & meet targets

  • Communication: Display professionalism and represent the Company as a leader of the organization in all communications and interactions with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce all Company policies governing the operation of the Die Cast Trim in accordance with contractual and Company guidelines
  • Exhibit dynamic leadership skills to develop and motivate employees through effective and consistent communication
  • Maintain workforce scheduling, including management of vacation liability and timecard management and overtime planning, to hit daily demand requirements while minimizing operational costs
  • Review daily production schedules to meet daily production needs
  • Monitor quality of product to assure compliance with specifications
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
  • Work with department heads to develop/alter policies and procedures to high work standards.
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma applications to drive continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for safety of team and safety compliance to include PPE adherence, safety policy adherence, conducting safety audits, correcting unsafe behaviors & conditions. Conducts incident investigation reports in partnership with EH&S.
  • Conducts root cause analysis in partnership with Quality on defects, drives resolution; addresses repeat warranty issues; drives corrective actions around compliance findings.
  • Drive accountability to policies and procedures; makes discretionary decisions that are guided by policies, procedures, and business plan.
  • Resolves conflict within team and across teams; investigates routine personnel issues in partnership with HR
  • Manage timekeeping & absenteeism; update UKG; sign off on timecards; ensure compliance to start/stop times, breaktimes & mealtimes
  • Understand and manage the production schedule and understand impact on other areas; communicate to internal customers any changes or deviations to schedule / plan and make action plans with support functions where needed

Required Qualifications:  

  • Associates degree
  • 2-3 years prior supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to resolve conflict, coach, direct, and develop employees
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Proficiency in Office 365 applications with emphasis on Excel & Word
  • Demonstrated ability to execute continuous improvement projects

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-3 years prior supervisory experience within a union manufacturing environment
  • Die cast, foundry, or metal finishing experience
  • Lean Six Sigma experience
  • Experience with UKG Workforce systems

  • This position works in a foundry environment

Add Pay Verbiage

The anticipated pay range for this position is $61,400 - $98,600 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job- related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
