As the Production Manager, Manual & Robotic Weld, you’ll play a key role in leading production operations within your area—overseeing the process, driving continuous improvement, and empowering your team to meet safety, quality, and production goals. This position combines leadership, collaboration, and hands-on problem solving to ensure that every product leaving our facility reflects the strength, precision, and performance our customers expect.

As a Production Manager, Manual & Robotic Weld, you will:

  • Oversee the production process and manage the production team
  • Ensure the production targets are met in terms of safety, quality, productivity and on-time delivery.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of process quality, productivity standards, budget, inventory, and data reporting.
  • Resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance obstacles to minimize cost and prevent operational delays.
  • Compile, maintain, and gather production data for use in following schedules and continuous improvement projects.
  • Oversee and direct information to be communicated in the 5-Minute huddles.
  • Develop labor and capital plans to achieve schedule and budget requirements along with assisting in capital equipment implementation.
  • Hire, train, coach, and recognize/reward employees in line with company guidelines and policies. With supervisor, evaluate employee performance and conduct annual performance reviews.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering team, develop and implement process improvements needed to continuously improve operational performance of manufacturing operations.
  • Partner with Quality team to monitor the quality performance of products in the field and drive the issues back down into the manufacturing process for improvement projects.
  • Partner with EHS Manager, to ensure the department/plant is following standards, and educate team on said standards.
  • Create an environment to support employee engagement and active problem solving for the betterment of the organization.
  • Leverage data analytics to make strategic and tactical business decisions.
  • Partner with planning and purchasing to maintain adequate resources (tools, raw material, farmout).
  • Develop capacity planning models and staffing plans.

What Life Fitness / Hammer Strength is looking for in our Production Manager, Manual & Robotic Weld:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technical, or related field or relevant experience.
  • Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Experience in a vertically integrated organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem solver with the ability to multitask several projects and deliver high quality and timely results.
  • Strong working knowledge of production.
  • Knowledge of production standards.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Basic MRP experience.

Preferred

  • Oracle experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience.
  • Five plus years’ experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Lean manufacturing/continuous improvement experience.

Working Conditions:

This role will be a combination of shop floor and office environment.  The noise level in the office is generally moderate.  The noise level on the shop floor may be noisy and hearing protection will be required in some areas.  Occasionally lift 35 lbs.

At Life Fitness / Hammer Strength, we believe in taking care of our team with a comprehensive total rewards package that includes competitive pay and a range of valuable benefits. The salary range for this position, intended for U.S. applicants, is $89,100 - $130,000 annually.The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Owatonna, MN and the actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.This position is eligible to participate in Life Fitness / Hammer Strength’s annual Manager Incentive Plan to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of bonus varies based on company and individual performance goals and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.This position is eligible to receive a mobile allowance to offset the costs of using a personal cell phone for business related purposes.
