Job Responsibilities
- Providing leadership and coaching to production supervisors and employees to meet all safety, environmental, quality, cost and service goals and objectives.
- Partnering with the Quality Control Coordinator to ensure that finished product meets all customer requirements through continuous improvement and utilization of the plant quality management system.
- Partnering with the Maintenance Manager to ensure equipment reliability at optimal efficiency and cost.
- Providing leadership and support to the overall reliability strategy including the involvement of production employees in TPM.
- Partner with the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to assure optimization of the manufacturing schedule and adjust as necessary to provide required levels of service to our customers in the most cost-effective manner.
- Providing the leadership to maintain a highly engaged workforce. Partners with HR in areas of performance management, employee involvement, organizational change, staffing and employee development.
- Providing leadership to drive continuous improvement through the application of methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, 5S, working directly with the production and maintenance teams.
- Assuring employee training (Safety, Quality, Process) is effective and completed.
- Mentoring immediate direct reports and establishing an effective team that is accountable and capable of achieving all performance goals.
- Assuring plant housekeeping meets company standards, implements, and maintains a 5S program to sustain improvements.
Qualifications
- Technical four-year degree
- Minimum of 5 years’ supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment
- Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement initiatives including Lean Manufacturing
- Proficient with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Proven history of operational enhancement and improvements through employee engagement
- Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) skills.
- Demonstrated team-building talent and firsthand critical thinking skills.
- Ability to achieve results individually and as a member of a team.
