Job Summary: This National Guard position is for a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER, Position Description Number D1255000 and is part of the NJ FMS 8, National Guard. The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance production management, to achieve or maintain desired production levels, to serve as an equipment readiness expert for units supported by the facility, and to provide technical guidance and oversight to a lower-graded Production Controller.

Major Duties:

  • As a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER, GS-1152-9, you will: Establish plans and schedules for maintenance and repairs Responsible for data input of work order information, status changes, and supply updates Prioritizes resources to ensure the highest level of readiness Provide technical guidance and oversight to a lower-graded Production Controller Assist in the resolution of problems encountered between scheduled or unscheduled production or priority requirements. Ensure necessary maintenance workers are available and that required reports are submitted to units and higher headquarters in a timely manner Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience performing the following: Prepare job or work orders Schedule various phases of projects into the production facility Oversee the progress planned and arrangements for adjustments in materials, and machines Use of automation support programs to input data and provide status of equipment Monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, and track repair parts status
