ABOUT THE ROLE:

At Airbus Defence & Space in Portsmouth, we design and deliver world-leading space technology. We are now looking for a Production Controller to join our team, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth flow of production activities for complex and high-reliability electronic systems.

This role is central to driving the schedule and cost performance of our projects, ensuring materials, parts, and assemblies are delivered on time to meet exacting customer requirements. Working closely with procurement, supply chain, and production teams, you will manage the end-to-end kitting and works order processes, coordinate component availability, and act on MRP outputs to keep production on track.

It’s an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of delivering cutting-edge space systems, where your attention to detail, planning expertise, and problem-solving ability will directly contribute to mission success.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM:

  • Manage production control activities, including MRP outputs, requisition release, and works order scheduling through to closure.

  • Oversee the kitting process, coordinating procurement, flight stores, and clean room delivery to align with project schedules.

  • Monitor and report on production progress, shortages, and parts availability, supporting daily and weekly prioritisation meetings.

  • Maintain accurate SAP transactions and master data (lead times, attrition, Make/Buy flags) to ensure confidence in planning and reporting.

  • Drive improvements in production processes through KPI analysis, change management support, and continuous improvement initiatives.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Strong working knowledge of MRP systems and/or SAP.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

  • Experience in a fast-paced, results-driven production or manufacturing environment.

  • Background in industries such as Aerospace, Defence, Communications, or high-reliability electronics.

  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

Not a 100% match? No worries! Airbus supports your personal growth with customised development solutions.
