Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the GM Defense Production Facility on a full-time basis (shift is four (4) 10's, Monday-Thursday)

The Role:
GM Defense is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic individual looking for an opportunity that will allow them to showcase their talents and have an impact in a strategic growth area. Our ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity and demonstrates problem-solving leadership with limited oversight.The Production Business Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day department activities for the entire shift, as well as planning, hiring, development and CAP/Compensation planning for their team, while fostering an inclusive environment!
What You'll Do:
Coordinate and execute training activities for salary team members
Collaborate and facilitate with the department to help plant meet quality targets
Maintain high level of GMS performance for the department
Drive a high-level safety culture
Lead productivity projects
Manage salary manpower requirements for the department
Participate in forecasting and forward planning activities
Ensure compliance with alarm and escalation, inspection ticket integrity
Oversee quality holds and interfaces with shipping yard regularly
Champion Department initiatives associated with Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost and Environmental
Interface with Government on a regular basis
Coordination and management of vehicle inspections and all supporting documentation
Prioritize and balance resources between plant departments
Candidate must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee) or a non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required export control authorization.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Associates degree or greater in automotive / manufacturing
Minimum of 5 years of assembly / manufacturing experience
Proven leadership skills
