This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes. The Associate II, Manufacturing Science & Technology Engineering (Science/Tech/Engineering Path), is primarily responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating new production materials, equipment, and technologies. You will conduct research, perform feasibility tests, and collaborate with vendors and partner functions, requiring advanced technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Monitor product performance using SPC and identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement new or revised manufacturing processes for efficient, economical production of surgical project.
  • Lead assigned projects to resolve material and manufacturing-related issues.
  • Apply risk management tools (e.g., pFMEA) to reduce process risks.
  • Conduct tests and troubleshooting throughout production to ensure quality control.
  • Ensure all production processes comply with regulatory and GMP requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or other related sciences.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or medical device manufacturing, ideally in a process support, QA, or QC role is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of root cause analysis, DMR/MDF, and pFMEA concepts.
  • Solid knowledge of GMP and regulatory requirements in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in data handling, applied statistics, and technical report writing.
  • Strong communication skills in English and the local language.
