Product Manager - Real Time Payments

Sydney CBD Area Full time

See yourself in our team

At Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), we are committed to reimagining banking through technology, innovation, and customer-first thinking. Our Domestic Payments team is at the heart of that transformation – delivering future-ready time payments solutions to support businesses, corporates, and institutions across Australia and beyond.

Do work that matters

As we continue to enhance and scale CBA’s Payee Validation Service to help prevent and reduce scams and fraud for our customers, we are looking for a passionate Product Manager to join our Domestic Payments team. This role will play a pivotal part in managing the product and identifying and supporting the development for enhancements to the product and overall proposition.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Developing and enhancing processes supporting CBA’s Payee Validation product and proposition.

  • Uplift existing features to enhance customer experience and product performance.

  • Develop and enhance the operating model to support product scalability, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability.

  • Contribute to the product strategy and roadmap and help define target customer segments, value propositions, and positioning

  • Map and improve the end-to-end journey for use of existing product and planned new product enhancements, including when partners are involved.

  • Collaborate with Risk, Go To Market, Legal and Compliance to ensure product continues to be delivered safely

  • Supporting the Go To Market team and Distribution for the sales, signing and onboarding of the product.

  • Collaborate with sales and relationship teams to develop onboarding playbooks, guides, and tools.

  • Act as a champion for customers, always seeking to understand and address their pain points.

We are looking for people who have

  • Experience in product management and strong ability to deliver

  • A customer-first and risk mindset, with a strong ability to map and simplify end-to-end user journeys.

  • Knowledge of payments (or a strong interest in learning).

  • Experience building and delivering operational processes

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills — able to influence teams across product, engineering, operations, and sales.

  • Commercial awareness and ability to align onboarding improvements to product growth and adoption goals.

  • Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify friction points and design data-led solutions.
