About The Position

The Product Manager leads the vision, strategy, and delivery of HWHI’s data and technology products and services that power risk stratification, intervention delivery, performance measurement, and outcome evaluation. This position plays a critical role in translating program and stakeholder needs into actionable product requirements and ensuring the delivery of scalable, secure, and interoperable systems that support HWHI’s strategic initiatives.

The Product Manager oversees the translation of stakeholder needs into prioritized product backlogs, alignment of engineering and analytics teams to defined priorities, and assurance of interoperability, security, and scalability to enable effective program operations and evaluation. This role defines product requirements, orchestrates cross-functional delivery, and measures success through adoption, usability, functionality, and outcomes achieved, blending product strategy, healthcare data literacy, and execution discipline.

The Product Manager works cross-functionally within HWHI and collaborates closely with AWE’s Information Technology and Legal teams to ensure alignment with enterprise policies, data governance standards, and risk management practices. This role ensures that technology products are well-integrated, compliant, and positioned to enable efficient, data-driven operations that advance HWHI’s mission and strategic goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Lifecycle Management

  • Lead the development and management of the product roadmap for data platforms, risk-stratification algorithms, analytics tools, dashboards, integration services, and related products.
  • Conduct discovery sessions with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, identify opportunities, and translate needs into product features.
  • Define and maintain product success metrics tied to usability, adoption, data quality, and program outcomes.
  • Covert requirements into well-structured epics, user stories, tasks, and acceptance criteria, including management and prioritization of the backlog.
  • Lead sprint planning, reviews, and retros with engineering and analytics teams, ensuring on-time delivery against scope and quality.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing, and rollout planning for new features and releases.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure on-time, within-scope, and high-quality product delivery aligned with HWHI’s mission and strategic objectives.

User Experience and Adoption

  • Champion user-centered design principles for dashboards and tools that promote accessibility, clarity, and ease of use across diverse internal and external user groups.
  • Gather feedback through pilots, testing, and continuous improvement cycles to refine usability and functionality. Iterate quickly to improve product and service performance.
  • Collaborate with communications and training teams to develop user guides, product documentation, and training materials.

Data Integration, Compliance, and Governance

  • Partner with Data Engineering to ensure adherence to interoperability standards (e.g., FHIR, HL7) and robust API structures.
  • Align product designs and decisions with HIPAA, data privacy, and cybersecurity policies; ensure compliance with HWHI and stakeholder data governance standards; and support risk mitigation efforts across systems.
  • Partner with AWE’s Information Technology and Legal teams to align product development with best practices, security protocols, data governance standards, and support risk mitigation efforts across systems.
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation for system architecture, release notes, technical specifications, and user guides.

Cross-Functional Integration and Reporting

  • Collaborate with internal workstreams to ensure products support program KPIs, evaluation frameworks, payment models, and operational workflows.
  • Design performance dashboards and reporting tools that translate data into actionable insights.
  • Provide regular updates and performance summaries to leadership and governance groups both internally and externally.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support organizational goals and evolving program needs.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, data science, computer science, healthcare administration, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • 7–10 years of experience in product management, technology program management, or closely related roles developing data or analytics products; healthcare or health tech experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing the full product lifecycle, from discovery through delivery and iteration, within cross-functional environments.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data systems, including FHIR, HL7, HIPAA compliance, EMR/claims data, and analytics use cases such as risk stratification, KPI measurement, and payment adjudication.
  • Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver products that integrate complex data sources and meet business needs.
  • Demonstrated commitment to data privacy, security, and governance best practices.
  • Skilled in relationship management, cross-functional communication, and conflict resolution. Ability to facilitate tradeoffs and drive alignment.
  • Strong communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency with project management and performance tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Confluence, SharePoint, or similar) and the ability to leverage systems for organizational effectiveness.
  • Experience with data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to synthesize and present technical concepts and performance data to varied audiences.
  • High degree of professionalism, adaptability, and collaboration across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Physical Demands: In the work environment described, position requires sitting at a desk and utilizing a computer and a telephone for prolonged periods of time and good eye/hand coordination, bending and stretching, and physical stamina to lift and transport a minimum of 10 pounds. Work Environment: Work is performed full-time (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.) in a professional, climate-controlled office environment with standard office equipment, including computers, printers, and telephones. This role requires working in an open setting near colleagues. The noise level is typically low to moderate. The role also requires interaction with both the public and internal team members in a professional and courteous manner. Some local travel will be required, and a flexible schedule may be necessary to accommodate business needs, including occasional evening and weekend work hours.
