This role is in support of Cencora's wholesale distribution services in Europe operating through our Alliance Healthcare business.

We're hiring the Procurement Specialist to join our Procurement team at Cencora.

The Role:

The Sourcing Specialist works in cooperation with the Category Teams to support the development and execution of category practices for selected categories, including support of sourcing strategy definition, deployment and stakeholder alignment.

With strong category focus the Sourcing Specialist drives and supports the execution of the sourcing projects and is the point of interaction between the Divisional & Country Teams.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Sourcing Specialist is supporting the Category Managers to develop Category Strategies and sourcing project execution. Variances of the allocation of time can occur dependent on Category and level of experience.

Stakeholder alignment

  • Support the Category Manager in the identification of stakeholders in the initiation of the strategy development and sourcing execution projects

  • Actively engage with stakeholders as defined in alignment with the Category Manager throughout the strategy development and sourcing execution process

  • Ensure that the input from the stakeholder is considered in the process

  • Prepare the SCP documentation

Sourcing support

  • Support the Category Manager in their role in providing analysis and support on the definition of the category spend baseline and category profile, including risk assessment, ESG/CSR & SRM strategy

  • Support development of Go-To-Market and negotiation strategies in alignment with the Category Manager and ensure proper documentation

  • Provide support during the supplier screening and supplier selection process

  • Assist in the development of Rfx

  • Support preparation of supplier communication packages

  • Prepare fact-based negotiation packages, in support of the Category Management team in the negotiation process

  • Support preparation of implementation plan

  • Define requirements & templates for analytics and market intelligence support

  • Coordinate the analytics and e-sourcing support from AmerisourceBergen, ensuring that the requirement of the support is clearly defined, performance reviewed and all issues resolved

Sourcing and Category Management

  • Perform Category Manager activities for projects with limited complexity

  • Manage the procurement strategy implementation / sourcing execution for less complex categories

  • Drive supplier performance by, for example, discussing lessons learned from one country and making sure that the supplier builds on those lessons learned to improve service levels in another country

  • Provide support to countries on a case-by-case basis to offset local skill gaps (bring specific category/technical knowledge to key stakeholder meetings and negotiations)

  • Develop category specific toolkits (i.e. excellence toolkits) and train Category Managers in adequate execution including choice of e-RFX platform

  • Build up knowledge repository and encourage active enhancement by Category Managers based on local experience

  • Execute end-to-end sourcing projects for less complex categories (in alignment with the Category Managers

  • Participate in internal and external analysis (industry & supplier) in collaboration with Category Managers and in-country procurement Manager, as a member of the cross functional sourcing team

  • Support supplier selection and fact-based negotiations, reviewed, validated and signed off by the Category Manager

  • Support the Category Managers to assure business requirements are met in the region

  • Involve the business for actions related to supplier base optimisation, KPI implementation and follow up, etc.

  • Conduct spend map analysis to monitor spend and ensure that all local purchases follow the purchasing process

  • Continuously track forecasted vs. actual savings

Operational interfacing / interaction with New Product Development

  • Act as interface Interface between the Divisional & in-country Procurement organisation and the product development, planning and supply teams in the countries in alignment with the Category Manager.

  • Provide insights on Procurement analytics and data to support the new product development.

  • Escalate issues to the Category Manager for their review and approval.

Management & maintenance of core processes including but not limitied to

  • Sourcing

  • Benefits reporting

  • Productivity pipeline

  • Contract management &

  • SRM processes

Knowledge and Experience Required

Academic background:

  • Appropriate University/bachelor degree qualification is preferred. A recognised qualification in procurement would be considered an asset. (e.g. CIPS)

Experience:

  • Extensive knowledge of spend area at hand is preferred, with substantial professional experience in the same functional domain or other related positions.

Language skills:

  • Proficiency in English essential; Additional European languages are a bonus.

Travel: This role will require regular travel across markets within the IBG (International Business Group) as well as supplier visits.
