Purchasing Manager – Be a Key Partner in Our Value Chain

As Purchasing Manager, you will be an important partner for our Norwegian production sites. This is a role with significant impact, requiring cross-functional collaboration, strategic insight, and the ability to deliver operational results.

You will be responsible for adapting local purchasing strategies to global standards and managing procurement across multiple categories – with a particular focus on raw material sourcing, including services related to seaweed harvesting, maintenance and spare parts (MRO), investments (CAPEX), and administrative costs (SG&A). The role also includes supplier development and continuous improvement to ensure long-term value for the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies for our Norwegian sites in line with global guidelines and company objectives.
  • Act as the link between local departments and the global procurement team.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand needs, plan purchases, and improve procurement services.
  • Lead local procurement projects and ensure value creation.
  • Analyze purchasing costs and market trends, and identify new supplier opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and local regulations.
  • Maintain purchasing data and KPIs in the ERP system (SAP) and report results to local and global management.
  • Manage supplier-related processes, from evaluation and contract negotiations to performance follow-up and conflict resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Higher education in procurement, economics, logistics, or equivalent.
  • Solid background in strategic purchasing, preferably in an international environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to build relationships across functions.
  • Proactive and structured work style with an analytical approach.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems, as well as strong MS Office skills.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken; Spanish is an advantage.

We employ approximately 130 people in Norway, and in addition to our factory on Karmøy, we have a branch in Sandvika, Oslo. Here you will find our production unit for ultra-pure biopolymers and our Seaweed R&D team.
