Procurement Lead

At Ordnance Survey, we’re proud to be the national mapping agency for Great Britain, delivering location data that underpins innovation and decision-making across the public and private sectors. As we continue to evolve and grow, we’re looking for a strategic and commercially astute Procurement Lead to join our team.

In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the delivery of procurement and sourcing services across the business, ensuring our supplier relationships are robust, compliant, and aligned with OS’s strategic objectives. You’ll be instrumental in shaping procurement policy, negotiating high-value contracts, and driving value for money across our supply chain.

What you’ll be doing

  • Setting and maintaining procurement strategy and policy, prioritising activities to maximise business impact and ensuring best practice and compliance with government and stakeholder requirements

  • Leading negotiations on high-value contracts and fostering key supplier relationships to build collaborative partnerships with shared risk and reward

  • Supporting senior stakeholders to ensure procurement delivers tangible value for the business while mitigating risk

  • Aligning procurement services with OS’s strategic goals and ensuring compliance to the relevant public sector regulations (Procurement Act 2023) and other internal policies

  • Managing and developing a team of high-quality procurement professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and embedding a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer focus across the team

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in leading procurement and contract management in a complex organisation

  • Strong negotiation skills and a track record of securing favourable commercial terms

  • Ability to build strategic relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders

  • Deep understanding of public sector procurement, risk management, and value delivery

  • Salary – £72,354 – £84,412

  • Performance related bonus up to 10%

Location
