About SAFCo[What you will be working on]
Strategic Procurement Operations
Implement SAF procurement strategies in alignment with SAFCo’s regulatory and operational objectives.
Translate strategic sourcing plans into executable procurement workflows and documentation.
Build & operationalize procurement policies, SOPs, and compliance frameworks to ensure consistency and audit readiness.
Build, maintain and continuously improve procurement processes to enhance agility, scalability, governance, and efficiency.
Tender Operations & Life Cycle Management
Lead the setup and implementation of procurement systems (e.g. SAP Ariba, Coupa or other sourcing and procurement system and tool), ensuring system integrity, seamless integration, user access control, and audit readiness.
Execute the end-to-end tender lifecycle for SAF procurement, including RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, bid evaluations, contract finalization and post-award management.
Maintain procurement dashboards and reporting tools to track KPIs such as supplier performance, contract milestones, fuel volumes and pricing benchmarks.
Ensure accurate input and reconciliation of fuel prices in procurement systems, including monthly invoicing, rolling buffers, and despite resolution with vendors.
Market Intelligence and Price Risk Modelling
Monitor global fuel markets trends, pricing fluctuations, and feedstock volatility, including Platts, Argus and other feedstock indices to inform procurement decisions.
Monitor and provide regular market intelligence on global market trends in SAF, biofuels and feedstock for price risk modeling and inform procurement decisions.
Track emerging technologies and market developments to assess financial exposure and risk mitigation strategies.
Develop and maintain SAF price risk models and conduct scenario planning to support strategic sourcing and financial planning.
Collaborate with sustainability and operations teams to support potential cost and pricing optimisation initiatives where applicable.
Contract & Supplier Management
Support contract negotiation and drafting, ensuring alignment with SAFCo’s sustainability goals and regulatory frameworks (e.g., CORSIA, ISCC).
Track and manage supplier SLAs, performance metrics, and compliance with SAF certification and delivery standards.
Conduct supplier due diligence, onboarding, and periodic reviews to ensure reliability and cost-effectiveness.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with sustainability, finance, and legal teams within SAFCo and CAAS to ensure procurement strategies are operationally executable and aligned with SAFCo’s mission.
Participate in monthly and quarterly supplier meetings to review fuel pricing, delivery performance, and reconciliation issues.
Technical & System Skills
Proficiency in e-procurement systems (SAP Ariba, Oracle, Coupa and others), Excel-based modelling, and contract management tools.
Familiarity with aviation fuel logistics, into-plane services, and airport fuel operations.
Experience integrating procurement systems with other middleware platforms like SAF registry for SAF EA tracking and sustainability documentation.
[What we are looking for]
8 - 12 years of experience in procurement operations, price risk management or supply chain management, ideally within aviation, fuel and energy related roles.
Experience in aviation fuel markets is highly desirable, including supply chain/logistic expertise, contract structures, pricing and credit mechanics, and airline/airport
Strong understanding of fuel pricing mechanisms, market dynamics, and risk management frameworks.
Proven track record and experience in setting up and managing procurement systems and tender processes, including familiarity with platforms like Ariba, Coupe, Oracle or other e-procurement platforms.
Experience in SAF is highly desirable; strong background in biofuels, renewable energy, low-carbon solutions, or the wider energy sector is essential.
Deep understanding of energy and fuel market dynamics, pricing mechanisms, and the influence on the market’s supply and demand due to emerging sustainability and policy frameworks.
Comfortable with market analytics, scenario modelling, and commercial risk frameworks.
Strong analytic skills, commercial acumen, stakeholder management capabilities
Comfortable working in a startup environment with multi-hat responsibilities and cross-functional collaboration.
