We’re looking for a Procurement Assistant Manager to join our Logistics & Services (L&S) procurement team in Mexico City. This role is a great opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their procurement career, working in a global environment with high exposure to strategic sourcing and supplier management.

You’ll be responsible for managing procurement activities within a specific category, product, or geography, supporting the development and execution of strategies that drive cost efficiency and service excellence. You’ll collaborate closely with Procurement Managers, Operations, Legal, Finance, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment and impact.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement

  • Support the implementation of regional procurement strategies aligned with Maersk’s business goals.
  • Execute procurement projects, ensuring alignment with cost, quality, and delivery expectations.

Supplier Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and service levels.
  • Assist in complex negotiations and contract management to secure favorable terms.

Strategic Direction & Savings

  • Contribute to the strategic direction of procurement to drive cost savings and operational efficiencies.
  • Track and report on procurement KPIs and supplier performance.

Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor procurement performance, identifying successes and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that savings and service improvements are measured and followed up.

Continuous Improvement

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes and strategies.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices to help evolve our procurement approach.


What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who’s eager to grow, collaborate, and take ownership. Ideally, you:

  • Are based in Mexico City
  • Are bilingual (Spanish & English)
  • Have experience in logistics, e-commerce, or related industries
  • Have worked with suppliers and participated in negotiations or vendor discussions
  • Are proactive, curious, and not afraid to propose new ideas or solutions
  • Understand how to balance vendor relationships while protecting Maersk’s interests
  • Are comfortable working in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment
  • Have solid skills in MS Office; Power BI is a plus
  • Have experience with e-sourcing tools like Kilbar, Ariba, or Coupa
  • Are available to work on-site Monday through Wednesday
