Diamond Infrastructure Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Process Operator at the Texas City, Texas location.
As a Process Operator, you play a critical role in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. You will operate and monitor control systems and manual equipment to manage levels, temperatures, pressures, and flow rates, as well as oversee product transfers. You would also perform routine field tasks such as lifting hoses, bolting flanges, and operating valves while following established operating disciplines and safety procedures. As the Process Operator you will also support maintenance and project work, and act as a resource for other operators, and take ownership of all assigned tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
Perform routine operation of basic control systems and devices to monitor levels, temperatures, pressures and flow rates and transfer of products.
Lift hoses, bolt flanges and operate valves and similar equipment including the proper clearing and isolation of equipment.
Follow operating discipline, procedures and practices to ensure a safe and efficient operation of assigned duties.
Control, monitor and make necessary adjustments on control systems and manually operated equipment.
Troubleshoot process, product quality, safety, and environmental problems and identify equipment requiring maintenance.
Ensure safe and efficient performance of maintenance and project work.
Act as a resource for other Operators on job tasks and prioritization of work activities.
Take ownership for the accurate completion of all assigned tasks.
Must certify on multiple roles which includes working as an inside Control Board Operator, Outside Operator or in a Relief Operator capacity, covering vacancies on multiple shifts.
Serves on the Fire Brigade/Site Emergency Response Team, as required by the Texas City Operations Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Performs daily sample analysis and performs calibration checks of analytical equipment and systems and responds appropriately.
Complete all duties as assigned with a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship.
A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent is required AND one of the following:
Short-Cycle Tertiary Degree (i.e. Associate's Degree) or equivalent.
Currently pursuing a Short-Cycle Tertiary Degree (i.e. Associate's Degree) in Process Technology and will graduate within the next three (3) months.
In lieu of a degree Dow will consider those with three (3) or more years of relevant military service in a technical specialty.
Five (5) or more years of manufacturing experience as an Operator, Production Operator, or related role.
A current, valid US driver's license is required.
Willing and able to work a rotating shift and overtime as required (including weekends & holidays).
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Associate or higher degree in Process Technology, Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Chemical Instrumentation and /or Electrical or Computer Technology is preferred.
A Process Technology certification is preferred.
Process Monitoring and Control - Ability to operate and monitor control systems and manual equipment to maintain accurate levels, temperatures, pressures, and flow rates for safe and efficient plant operations.
Mechanical Aptitude - Skill in performing hands-on tasks such as lifting hoses, bolting flanges, and operating valves, ensuring proper isolation and clearing of equipment.
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving - Competence in identifying and resolving processes, product quality, safety, and environmental issues quickly and effectively.
Safety and Environmental Stewardship - Strong commitment to following operating disciplines and procedures to maintain a safe workplace and protect environmental standards.
Maintenance Support - Ability to assist with maintenance and project work, ensuring equipment reliability and operational continuity.
Team Collaboration and Leadership - Capacity to act as a resource for other operators, share knowledge, and help prioritize tasks while taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.
Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.
Wear and use respirators.
Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
Work in tight or closed-in spaces.
Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground.
Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
Lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground. Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300lbs.
