Position Description:

The Engineer – IAPI (Indianapolis Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) is an engineering associate position in our cell bank manufacturing facility at the Lilly Technology Center in Indianapolis. This engineer will actively contribute to the Network TSMS and IAPI organizations by providing process engineering support for the GMP manufacturing of commercial cell banks and development bioassays.

Key Objectives/Deliverables: 

  • Understand the interaction of the equipment and scientific principles required for manufacturing and cryogenic storage of working and master cell banks. 
  • Work with internal and external Engineering vendors and Maintenance staff for to ensure reliable cGMP manufacturing. 
  • Provide technical support for non-routine (e.g., deviation) investigations.  
  • Be capable of preparing relevant technical documents, such as: Equipment Qualifications, Change Controls, Deviations, Protocols, Summary Reports, and Procedures with Good Documentation Practices.
  • Participate in development and implementation of process improvements, including capital expansions/projects and technical projects.  
  • Work within cross-functional teams in a positive fashion to implement process team objectives and deliver on business plan and quality objectives. 
  • Provide system oversight for various process control and accessories as primary or backup system custodian as needed.

Basic Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Preferred Mechanical or Chemical Engineering)

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$66,000 - $149,600

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
