The Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is seeking a Printing Production Coordinator to support state agencies with professional printing, publishing, and mailing solutions that reach Oregonians statewide.
As a Printing Production Coordinator, you’ll be the go-to expert for agency partners—helping them design, plan, and deliver projects that are on time, on budget, and on brand. You’ll:
Consult with customers to plan complex publishing and mailing projects, providing recommendations for the most efficient and cost-effective solutions.
Review and manage work orders, determining whether projects should be handled in-house, through qualified vendors, or via the Department of Corrections inmate work program.
Ensure quality and compliance, reviewing digital files, print specifications, and mailing standards to meet state and federal requirements.
Coordinate across teams and vendors, monitoring project progress from start to finish to deliver exceptional results.
Provide training and guidance to agency staff on printing technologies, mailing options, and process improvements.

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
Four years of printing production experience which includes one year of lead work or supervision;
OR
Two years of printing production and two years of sales or marketing printing services experience which includes completion of technical or apprenticeable training in printing;
OR
An equivalent combination of training and experience.
The training and/or experience must have provided:
Knowledge of the organization, work flow, standards, and practices of production printing;
Knowledge of postal regulations related to materials shipped by mail;
Skill preparing accurate, complete printing order specifications from client information;
Skill preparing accurate cost estimates and job pricing;
Skill assessing print orders to determine labor and materials costs, need for special equipment, materials, or techniques, and if there is a need to bid the jobs out;
Skill assisting and advising clients on print orders or production problems;
Skill coordinating and cooperating with production units to assure timely, cost-effective job completion.

We’re searching for a motivated, detail-oriented professional who enjoys problem-solving and working directly with customers. The ideal candidate will have:
Knowledge of printing and mailing industry standards, including digital printing, bindery operations, and USPS specifications.
Skill in coordinating multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines in a production environment.
Experience using print management and desktop publishing software to process, prepare, and troubleshoot digital files.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers, vendors, and team members.
Ability to handle confidential information in accordance with agency and state policies.
Experience working independently, taking initiative, and providing responsive customer service.
Ability to collaborate effectively with others and contribute to problem-solving in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

This announcement is for one permanent, full-time, SEIU-represented Printing Production Coordinator, and may be used to fill future vacancies.
*The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect the additional 6.95%.
