Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems/Weapons Defeat Engineer to join our team on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.

Position Overview:

As a Systems/Weapons Defeat Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to deter, detect, and defeat complex threats. You will leverage your expertise in engineering disciplines, systems analysis, and intelligence integration to develop innovative solutions that protect against proliferation and hostile weapon systems. Your creativity and technical skills will be essential in safeguarding our national security.

Responsibilities:

As the Systems/Weapons Defeat Engineer, you will evaluate weapon systems, design countermeasures, apply systems engineering principles, analyze technical data and conduct simulations to support the development of defensive systems and offensive counter measures to deter or neutralize complex multi nodal threat networks and weapons platforms. You will also integrate intelligence data, develop profiles of adversary capabilities, identify system vulnerabilities, develop technical solutions, support operational planning, utilize data science techniques, prepare technical documentation, maintain industry knowledge, work collaboratively, and build relationships to ensure effective adversarial defeat and weapons system mitigation.

Required Skills:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance (required).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong knowledge of weapons systems, proliferation threats, and regulatory standards.
  • Proven expertise in systems engineering methods, tools, CAD software, simulation platforms, and embedded systems.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with adversarial analysis, vulnerability assessment, and countermeasure development.
  • Proficiency in data science, machine learning, and visualization techniques.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with foreign weapon system analysis and threat profiling.
  • Familiarity with intelligence fusion environments and multi-source data integration.
  • Experience in prototype development, testing, and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and government regulatory frameworks related to defense systems.

Primary Level Salary Range: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
