Raytheon’s Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer who will support Air Defense Operations Center systems engineering operations, onsite coordination/communication, and troubleshooting efforts, supporting the Qatari Air Force at their facility.

In this role you will support onsite during standard work hours with expected 24/7 phone support in the case of emergencies. You will work independently to perform troubleshooting on tactical C5I system and work side-by-side engineering team members. You will perform as the SCRUM Master and Raytheon site lead acting as the primary point of contact for all efforts impacting the site and communicating with the soldiers and U.S. Government representatives onsite and supporting weekly customer meetings with the program leadership.

This onsite international position will be in Doha, Qatar for an international assignment with additional compensation.

Employment is contingent upon meeting all medical requirements for overseas assignments including comprehensive post-offer medical examination.   

What You Will Do

  • Perform site systems engineering troubleshooting and operations utilizing a computer-based platforms.
  • Provide support to engineering, logistics, maintenance, and operations teams.
  • Provide reach-back collaboration and troubleshooting support on tactical systems.
  • Document and develop solutions in collaboration with systems and software engineers troubleshooting issues.
  • Present findings and solutions to leadership and / or customers.
  • Confirm onsite system processes are conducted according to established procedures for software and hardware.
  • Troubleshoot, isolate and correct malfunctions using program maintenance diagnostics, unit self-tests and built-in test equipment.
  • Perform ADOC shift tasks to ensure continuous operations.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8+ years of prior engineering experience.
  • Experience with air defense operations center systems operations, maintenance, and integration.
  • Experience with JIRA, MATLAB, Python, C / C++, Linux, Windows, Unix, and / or other programming languages.
  • Experience troubleshooting networks, switches, routers, Red Hat Linux, and Microsoft systems.
  • Experience with testing and / or verification.
  • Experience providing written and delivering presentation status updates.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with validation of X-Band family of radars, Early Warning Radars or other Missile Defense System sensors.
  • Experience with design, development, radar systems, and software architecture.
  • Experience with technical cybersecurity domain and maintaining compliance with future cybersecurity knowledge and technical updates.
  • Experience configuring hardware setups, installing software, troubleshooting hardware / software / electronics (standalone and networked).
  • Experience interfacing hardware systems with network routers / switches / firewalls.
  • Experience with scripting, networking protocols, data distribution services, performing software installations, and configuring electronic systems.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
