Job Summary:
As an individual contributor on our Inferencing/Agentic team, you will play a key role in shaping the future of AI-influenced software and platform architectures. You'll develop and deliver capabilities that support Red Hat's innovation around Generative AI applications, focusing on distributed AI inference and agent-based infrastructure. This role requires a passionate, hands-on engineer who thrives in the open source community and excels at integrating diverse technologies into a cohesive platform.

What You Will Do:
Research, evaluate, and investigate emerging trends and standards in AI and related technologies.
Design, document, and build proof-of-concept (POC) implementations for distributed inference and agent-based systems, ensuring they are operational and ready for the next phase.
Work closely with other engineers, tech leads, and internal stakeholders. Contribute to and influence upstream open source projects, elevating the platform architecture and user experience.
Present your findings and implementations to internal and external audiences, at conferences, and through blogs.
Develop and adapt quickly to a modern AI technology stack, including vLLM, llm-d, Agentic AI, LLMs, PyTorch, and Kubernetes/OpenShift. Experience with Edge computing stacks like MLOps at the Edge is a plus.
Design and deliver new features for platforms like Red Hat OpenShift AI using CI/CD best practices.
What You Will Bring:
10+ years of total career experience
4+ years of experience in MLOps, DevOps, automation, and modern software deployment
Practical experience with hosting and scaling LLMs
Proven ability to work with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructures such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
Hands-on programming experience with languages like Go, Python, or Rust
Proficiency with modern development tools, including Git, Jenkins or GitHub Actions, and Terraform
Experience with OpenTelemetry for observability
A passion for working within open source communities
Comfortable using Generative AI as a productivity enhancement tool
A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively with a large, geographically diverse team

The salary range for this position is $170,770.00 - $281,770.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
