What you'll do at Jamf: 

 

The Principal SecOps Engineer plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the enterprise security strategy across Jamf’s corporate, cloud, and product security domains. Operating within the Office of the CISO and reporting directly to the CISO, this role provides security architectural leadership and guides the organization in adopting and integrating advanced security technologies. 

As a strategic leader, the Principal SecOps Engineer partners with enterprise security and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure initiatives align with broader business objectives. The role oversees the development of sophisticated security strategies while ensuring that deployments are scalable, resilient, and operationally effective.   

What you can expect to do in this role:

Strategic Leadership 

  • Play a key role in designing and driving the long-term security strategy, aligning with organizational objectives and risk appetite.
  • Provide executive-level security advice to technical and business leaders.
  • Anticipate emerging threats and proactively recommend mitigations.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to integrate security considerations into product development, operations, and business processes.

Product Security & Engineering 

  • Partner with product and engineering teams to embed security-by-design principles in architecture, APIs, and infrastructure.
  • Oversee secure coding practices, threat modeling, and security architecture reviews.
  • Define requirements and standards for DevSecOps, CI/CD, and cloud-native security.
  • Design and oversee implementation of security controls across cloud infrastructure, applications, and data systems
  • Evaluate and recommend security technologies, tools, and platforms to enhance our security posture

Incident Response & Operations 

  • Support the incident commander during incident response efforts and coordinate with internal teams and external partners during escalations 
  • Guide, establish and maintain security monitoring, detection, and response capabilities
  • Oversee post-incident reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Oversee vulnerability management and penetration testing programs

Team Development & Collaboration 

  • Mentor and develop security team members, fostering a culture of security awareness
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to embed security throughout the organization
  • Build relationships with external security communities and vendors

What we are looking for: 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in information security (Required)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior or leadership role (Preferred)
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing enterprise security programs(Required)
  • Experience with security compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP)(Required)
  • Deep understanding of cloud security principles and practices(Required)
  • Experience with security tools and technologies (SIEM, vulnerability scanners, endpoint protection, etc.)(Required)
  • Understanding of network security, encryption, and identity and access management(Required)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to executive audiences(Required)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities(Required)
  • Ability to influence and drive change across organizations(Required)
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, dynamic environments(Required)
  • Knowledge of emerging security threats and technologies(Required)
  • Experience with security automation and orchestration tools(Required)
  • Extensive experience with SaaS/cloud security, particularly AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform(Preferred)
  • Background in security architecture, risk assessment, and incident response (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of application security, secure coding practices, and DevSecOps(Preferred)
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and data privacy laws(Preferred)
  • Experience managing security budgets and vendor relationships(Preferred)
  • Background in security consulting or advisory roles(Preferred)
  • Previous experience with mergers and acquisitions from a security perspective(Preferred)

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field (Required)
  • Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISSP, or equivalent(Preferred)
  • Advanced degree in cybersecurity or related field (Preferred)
  • A combination of relevant experience and education may be considered

  • Participation in ongoing security training is mandatory.  
  • Established security protocols will be adhered to, sensitive data will be handled responsibly, and data protection practices are followed, including understanding relevant privacy regulations and reporting breaches.

The below annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
