Are you a visionary protection expert ready to make a real impact? Mercer Marsh Benefits (MMB) is looking for a dynamic Principal Protection Consultant to lead and innovate within our Corporate Consulting Team. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the development of the MMB Protection Proposition, crafting forward-thinking strategies that drive growth and set new standards in protection benefits.

You’ll also take charge of advancing the MMB Group Life Master Trust proposition, one of our fastest growing business areas, positioning yourself at the forefront of industry innovation.

This exciting opportunity is based in our London, Birmingham, or Chichester offices, with a flexible hybrid working model requiring at least three days per week in the office or visiting clients.

We will count on you to:

  • To identify growth opportunities and lead on Protection solutions driving innovation through MMB’s Protection proposition, Markets team and wider employee benefits, ensuring that MMB are delivering market leading solutions

  • To lead the MMB Group Life Master Trust proposition, driving growth through further innovation and service delivery.

  • To have good provider relationships and understanding of the Protection market

  • To develop and maintain a portfolio of complex Protection clients, by providing quality consulting advice and ongoing service. Managing the profitability of these clients.

  • To expand business lines and service delivery across Corporate Protection portfolio

  • To manage and develop strong client relationships and win new business. To work pro-actively with internal teams to deliver client expectations in line with agreed client account plans

What you need to have:

  • In depth Protection knowledge is essential with experience working with large complex clients, including self insured, captive and global arrangements

  • Financial and Commercial acumen (including fee negotiation skills)

  • Experience of proposition or solution development

  • Consulting and relationship management skills

  • Technical, product and process knowledge

  • Inter-personal, communication and time management skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
