Collins Aerospace, a leader in intelligent aerospace and defense solutions, is seeking a Principal Procurement Specialist to join our Thermal & Electronic Solutions team onsite in Simpsonville, South Carolina. In this highly visible role, you’ll serve as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external suppliers, driving procurement excellence to keep critical programs on track. You’ll be the focal point for supplier relationships—ensuring materials are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards that support our Simpsonville, SC operations and beyond.

You’ll lead negotiations, manage supplier performance, and contribute directly to program success through cost, quality, and delivery optimization. What You Will Do:

  • Lead end-to-end procurement activities, including purchase order placement, delivery assurance, and supplier performance management
  • Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key suppliers supporting our Simpsonville, SC operations
  • Oversee and manage supplier schedules, purchase orders, and delivery timelines to ensure seamless execution across the supply base
  • Drive on-time delivery, cost competitiveness, and adherence to Collins quality standards through proactive engagement and issue resolution
  • Execute procurement processes and standards—including RFPs, supplier negotiations, cost accountability, and program execution—to support business goals
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, payment approvals, and related documentation to maintain efficiency and accuracy throughout the procurement lifecycle
  • Serve as the primary contact for internal customers regarding order status, changes, and cancellations, ensuring clear communication and customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with suppliers to expedite materials, resolve shortages, and mitigate potential disruptions to production or program schedules
  • Track and analyze data on purchased items, cost performance, delivery reliability, and inventory levels to support strategic decision-making
  • Monitor supplier contract performance to ensure compliance with all commercial, technical, and quality requirements
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by leadership

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management, including inventory management, procurement, manufacturing resources planning (MRP), demand planning, and capacity management, to get the right materials to the right place, at the right time
  • Understanding of CORE operating system and process improvement tools (e.g. standard work, value stream management, passport process, quality clinic process charts, relentless root cause analysis, 5S)
  • Understanding of manufacturing methods, special processes, blueprints and quality requirements. Apply insights to supply chain functions, including but not limited to strategic sourcing, new product introduction, continuous improvement, quality management and issue resolution, etc

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
