Summary
Provides technical leadership and direction to ensure engineering strategies and resulting designs meet customer, company and regulatory requirements. Capable of overseeing high impact, complex, urgent or otherwise critical issues and driving the required cross-department collaboration and execution to ensure success. Leads the development of new and novel engineering methods, technology and strategies in accordance with Greenpoint business plans. Possesses industry recognition and mentors engineering staff within their discipline.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides clear and effective guidance for technical approaches to accomplish certification of Greenpoint designs by employing methodologies that bring the greatest overall value to the company.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with essential internal and external technical experts to ensure technical expertise is available and program requirements are being achieved.
- Provides technical leadership and mentoring of engineering staff to ensure efficient accomplishment of goals and objectives. Serves as mentor and fosters internal growth as it relates to engineering capabilities within the organization.
- Provides input and guidance during all phases of programs to solve challenging technical issues.
- Identifies new and novel engineering and certification solutions to facilitate completions of company projects.
- Provides technical review and approval of engineering designs, especially those that are of high risk or new technology.
- Presents technical concepts, engineering and certification basis for designs to Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs) and regulatory agencies.
- Partners with vendors and suppliers to ensure that engineering methods, approaches and products meet company engineering requirements.
- Evaluates suppliers for technology and engineering capabilities and methods.
- Works closely with engineering department leaders and executives to identify strategic company initiatives that will make Greenpoint more competitive and profitable.
- Produces engineering designs that meet Greenpoint strategic objectives utilizing contemporary engineering approaches.
- Advances technical design concepts for the engineering department taking into account cost competitiveness, market differentiators, new technology advancements and risk.
- May provide technical oversight and a specialized project-level coordination across engineering teams driving successful execution of large and complex projects, mentoring developing engineers, and maintaining quality and consistency across designs.
- Partners with management to assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and employee performance evaluations as required.
- Assists engineering managers in holding the team to effective behavior through mentoring and coaching, setting expectations and modeling the Code of Conduct.
- Supports and champions corporate directives, policies and initiatives.
- Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts.

Summary of Education, Experience & Abilities
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Engineering, minimum 10 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
US Person Required - this position requires special access. A US Person is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience working with the FAA and other regulatory agencies.
- Demonstrates mastery of knowledge in the engineering field, broadly across disciplines with emphasis on application to the Greenpoint business.
- Proficient in CAD and PLM systems (e.g., Inventor, AutoCAD, Teamcenter).
- Ability to simulate and analyze complex engineering problems.

The expected WA salary range for this position is between $150,000.00 - $206,000.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
