Collins Aerospace is seeking a dynamic Principal Specialist, Commodity Management & Sourcing to be responsible for implementing and leading commodity sourcing strategies. These responsibilities include quotations, bid analysis, supplier recommendations, awards, execution of new or extension of existing supplier contracts, supplier development, risk mitigation, and cost reduction in support of Landing Systems objectives for the Machining Commodity.

  • This position will be based in One of the following locations:
    • Ft. Worth, Texas
    • Troy, Ohio
    • Oakville, Canada

What You Will Do:

  • Partner with our suppliers to drive effective performance, strong relationships, and reliable health within the supply chain.
  • Act as an escalation point for supplier issues and works with cross-functional teams and central supply chain teams to resolve issues.
  • Support RTX and business level Strategic Sourcing Reviews
  • Negotiation Lead for Contract renewals and any contractual disputes
  • Grow, Maintain, Reduce (GMRE) Supplier Management and Maintenance
  • Key partner in Cost Reduction strategies and support ongoing VA/VE activities
  • Design and lead market research and sourcing strategies for focused technology areas
  • Lead cross functional / cross business strategy teams in support of business priorities
  • Development of business cases for alternate sourcing and hand-off strategies to Work Transfer teams
  • Develop strategic agreements that enable ongoing executable solutions

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Experience negotiation contracts and working with Commodity and Contracts teams.
  • Experience with CORE and LEAN projects

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Finance or STEM field
  • Data analytics for decision making
  • Experience using SAP
  • Experience in the Aerospace industry including Military
  • Ability to analyze Cost and Pricing Data and determine proposal compliance
  • Ability to understand technical requirements of procured hardware and services including Statements of Work (SOW)
  • Ability to process information and manage multiple conflicting priorities to drive to successful outcome (i.e., multi-task)
  • Practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within one work area
  • Broad knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
