Prime Intelligence, Markets Analyst - AVP

A brief description of the desk:

• The Prime Intelligence team sits within the Prime Services business, responsible for designing and developing Client, Trading and Management intelligence and providing insights to Trading and Sales desks to drive book and client PnL
• The team owns the Prime Intelligence platform which provides Sales and Trading access to PnL analytics, book and portfolio colour and client analytics across Prime Services
• The team owns Citi’s PB Data Product for Hedge Fund Clients – a proprietary positioning and flows-based data offering.
• The Markets Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for conducting research on new strategies and products, in coordination with the Trading team. The overall objective of this role is to utilize market analysis data to assist with evaluating performance, and aiding the development of products and methodologies.

What you will do will be varied day to day, but the key drivers for the role are:

• You will build Proof of Concepts covering end to end analytics from balances, portfolio characteristics, revenues, P&L explain, business and platform KPIs, client scorecards and benchmarking
• You will work closely with the Quant and Tech teams to translate these Proof of Concepts into Production level apps
• You will support Sales Traders, Equity Finance Traders, D1 Traders and Desk Heads with data and insights to influence Prime business and strategy and track progress vs core KPIs
• You will collaborate with the global Sales teams towards balance and revenue growth across Client Financing, Futures and Clearing and D1 by generating high value client content

What we will need from you:

• 3-5 years of experience in a related role
• Advanced statistics and data analysis background, with modelling capabilities, and spreadsheet oversight greatly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to conduct own research, evaluate proof of concepts/prototypes, articulate ideas and deliver presentations
• High proficiency in Programming with Python, SQL and VBA a must.
• As this role utilizes an overall understanding of markets and key drivers of profitability including - equities financing, margin lending, stock loan, balance sheet, risk weighted assets, margin, liquidity, and refinancing among other areas the successful applicant must also have had experience working ideally as part of a Prime Finance business, or at least a broader Equities/Fixed Income Financing business.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with both internal staff, external clients, and senior business leaders.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills and adept in working with large data sets, complex and multivariable problems, and fast paced environments.
• Educated preferably to Masters degree, in a STEM subject.
• Series 7 & 63 FINRA licenses, or ability to obtain post hire

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$150,000.00 - $175,000.00
