Your Role…

The Coordinator, Public Relations will provide support to the publicity team for TLC, Discovery, TBS, TNT, OWN, ID, Animal Planet, Science and truTV as well as administrative support directly to the Department's Director and SVP in addition to working closely with the team on projects and shows. Our ideal candidate will be organized, pro-active, flexible, able to multi-task across several projects with ease, and able to pivot when necessary.  This is a demanding, fast-paced position that requires someone who has a positive attitude and can exercise good judgment, take initiative, and demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. This person will be required work onsite from the Burbank, CA office three days a week.

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • Maintain and update departmental documents including media lists, editorial calendars, mailing lists, division calendars, status reports, grids and charts in addition to maintaining and updating departments press site and series pages.
  • Manage budget tracking and invoice processing for publicity expenses across all shows including code/process invoices, check requests and purchase orders in a timely manner.
  • Track press coverage and breaking news.  Prepare press research reports and campaign analyses as assigned. Compile weekly media briefs.
  • Write and edit press materials and documents, including A to Z document, episode descriptions, monthly blasts and various documents.
  • Responsible for distribution of media assets including press releases, media alerts, photos, clips, etc.
  • Provide outreach assistance to coordinate interviews and support at events
  • Order dubs, video and photos for team as assigned.  Create sizzle reels on behalf of the press team’s efforts for quarterly meetings.
  • Assist with planning, staffing, logistics, and travel for events including premieres, press junkets, festivals, conventions, and publicity tours.
  • Conduct research for projects, topics, media contacts, addresses, etc.
  • Participate in brainstorming and help develop pitches
  • Provide administrative and project support to Director and SVP in a timely and efficient manner. This includes assisting with scheduling meetings, printing, filing, copies, shipping, subscriptions, updating contact lists, travel and expense reports. These responsibilities will account for approximately 20% of this role’s time.

Qualifications and Experience…

  • 2+ to 3+ years in public relations or related.  
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects, as well as have a solid understanding of editorial and media relations. 
  • Must be well-organized and possess the ability to handle a multitude of projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented, flexibility to work on multiple projects at once.
  • Ideal candidate must effectively troubleshoot with an eye toward anticipating, identifying and forming strategic solutions.
  • Previous agency or television experiences a plus. 
  • Excellent writing, proofing and editing skills a must.  
  • Bachelor Degree preferred, Public Relations/Communications

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $42,209.00 - $78,389.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
