The Schumacher research group invites applications for a Post Doctoral Scholar position that will be based at OSU. The group is involved in several experimental and computational projects, including ultra-intense laser-plasma interactions and the physics of plasma mirror operation. The Post Doctoral Scholar will take a leading role in this work and running the Scarlet Laser Facility. This is a term position and is renewable based on performance and availability of funds.
Required Education:
Doctorate (Academic) with a Major in Physics
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Physics by the time of appointment.
Demonstrated record of accomplishments in intense laser-plasma physics.
Experience with the Scarlet Laser Facility and particle-in-cell modeling
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing and running experiments exploring ultraintense laser-plasma interactions and particle-in-cell modeling or related phenomena.
