Portfolio Manager, Secure Infrastructure Services Program Delivery

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Portfolio Manager to join our team. As a Portfolio Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to lead and oversee significant IT projects across our global organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to determine project objectives, scope, and deliverables, and ensure flawless execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to world class quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine project objectives, scope, and deliverables, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Create and manage project plans, encompassing timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies, to achieve ambitious project goals.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and proactively implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Communicate project updates and status reports to all relevant parties involved in the project, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and knowledge sharing among project team members to drive exceptional results.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of proven experience in IT project management, successfully delivering complex projects.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage project teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong ability to effectively convey information, both in writing and verbally.
  • Familiarity with PMP principles and practices is valued.
